Hi guys, this week's Nano update is actually updates and announcements.
Firstly , next week, I'd like to feature anyone that's got a Substack. Free to sign up, they're a great newsletter alternative that you can use to keep your followers in the loop, with segments and more . So, if you have an interesting creative or writing based Substack, please let me know - the info on how is at the bottom of this email!
Beyond that, I've been out at Nanomeets and more for the last few weeks, meeting up with and chatting to people about their books - as ever, the range of Nanowrimo based books that they're talking about is awesome. I'm so happy that there are so many creatives out there, and that we're still going. I' on my 20th challenge, which is cool. I started with Elliot, and I guess, I'm back to Elliot.
Turns out, the serial killer novel ties back to him and Harper, and the Priestesses. Only took a few hours of intense writing and everything linked up. I feel kinda lucky that way.
Continuation Bias is now officially put down too. It's just over 90k, but I think I'll leave it alone and edit that one in a bit.
Next up for me? I guess, I've got releases and prep to do. From A house at War, and Dungeonbashers, to Cry Havoc, I've got a list of stuff to do.
Finally, I've got some promotional stuff I'm hoping to do over Christmas, and then a Valentine's anthology set. Beyond that, who knows? I'm lucky, very lucky - to get a bit o time to myself to care for myself, and my daughter and write, and I'm trying not to let that slip through my fingers, and use it well. Which is, if I'm entirely honest, more pressure than I like, but equally, a chance I can't let go of. I've got so many cool new things coming up and going out and I'm just happy that it's a chance I actually have, instead of trying to piece it together. Not everyone is that lucky, and I know I have to keep that in the forefront of my mind.
I guess the final exciting thing happening here will be whether I get my Kindle Scribe in the first order or not. My family has very generously given me the money to afford it, which was really nice, so I'm looking forward to comparing it and the Remarkable that the other half owns, to see how their functionality looks. If that's something that interests you, watch this space!
Again, if you have your own Substack, I'm sharing - and hope you'll share mine - I'm happy to collect everyone's and pass them on in a formatted block for people to share, so if you'd like to join in, here are the rules:
1) Your Substack has to have a free option. If it doesn't, please don't submit.
2) You have to be willing to share with your subscribers - if you're setting one up to take part, please be considerate and share when you have some.
3) You should also share the blog post I'll be creating for it on your social media.
in return, I'll set up a page on Kaiberie.com, a Substack 'roll' as it were, with your Substack, and a one-line blurb about your newsletter, so people can choose the interesting ones to subscribe to.
Send your one-line blurb, link, and current subscriber count via comment or on my contact form please, and opt-in to my 'Substack promo' segment, so I can send you the information. I'll have the first set up a week today, so the cut-off is Saturday, and will email out periodically when adding more to ask if you want to remain on the list. :)
If you haven’t got your own Substack, you can sign up, free, here.
