Anyone that knows Savage Garden’s ‘Truly, Madly, Deeply’ will know that I’ve often joked about the first two lines being exactly how I feel about the unrequited relationship I have…with sleep.
“I’ll be your dream, I’ll be your wish, I’ll be your fantasy.
I’ll be your hope, I’ll be your love, be everything that you need.”
Now, don’t get my wrong, I adore Tempus. I really do. I’m the luckiest woman in the world. We both work from home, we’re both pretty well matched, and honestly, I can’t believe that I met and got the chance to remain with such an incredible man. (I may explain why he’s also my Bad Idea Bear, ala Avenue Q, later, but yeah, he’s also my Bad Idea Bear (YAAAAAY!).).
But. I’m tired right now. It’s the first week of 40 weeks of Uni, it’s the first prep week of four, and first of ten for Nanowrimo (I’ll be running locally, and a global chat server, if you want to join me, please go to our global Discord), and I’m in the middle of classes in Divi, major client redesigns and a pile of other things.
I have a book out in a week. Well, eight days really. I’ll be setting up a new substack for that too (I like it here). But right now, if I could just have a brief, intense fling with sleep, that’d be brilliant.
The fact is though, between mental health issues, shingles and business, I think things will be sleepless for a few weeks. But yeah, right now, I’m exhausted.
How about you guys?
It’s also #nationalpoetryday today, and I shared a few poems and will share a few more on my Facebook over the day.
